What's Your Status? August 14, 2011 (I mean 13)

What's Your Status? 8/14/11
This meme comes from Zakiya, a good friend of mine with an amazing blog, Butterfly Feet Walking On Life. The whole month of August Marla @ Starting the Next Chapter will be hosting this awesome meme! Now I've wanted to participate in this meme for a while now, but I never really had anything to "report" I guess you could call it. Finally I have something to actually "report".

So what is this meme? Well, the object is to post what you have finished in the last week, what you are currently reading, what you plan to read in the coming week, and what you want to buy next. You can also post your statuses on any book challenges. Lastly, you can also post about reviews you've written and memes you have done, though these aren't mandatory.

Finished This past Week:

The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting- Hopefully will be reviewing this book soon. I loved it so much! One of my new favorites!

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher- Also going to be reviewing this one soon. I'm a little torn over this book, so the review might take a little longer to gather my thoughts and fully decide what I think about it.

Currently Reading:

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins- 40% Read and 148 pages in. It took me such a long time to pick this one up and when I did I could only get 90 pages in before loads of school happened (last year), and I wasn't loving it. So I restarted this book this summer and I'm loving this book! I don't know what it was before but this book is amazing!

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and  Margaret Stohl- 4% Read and 24 pages in. Again, it's taken me a long time to pick this book up. I've actually had it for a long time. So finally last night I was deciding which books I really wanted to read as my final summer books and this one caught my eye. I'm only 24 pages in so I can't say how I'm liking it yet but I hope that it's as good as I've heard it is!

Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky- 9% Read and 64 pages in. Fun name right? This one's for school but I'm not hating it. It's just long, long in description and thoughts. I'm a dialogue person, in my opinion books don't go anywhere without dialogue and things happening. So I have literally a week to finish this book and I'm a little nervous about it. One thing in high school that I've learned but never put into practice is procrastinating! Every time I tell myself that it'll get done, and it does, a few days before whatever the big project is is due. (For some reason it's only the big projects/papers/assignments that I procrastinate on)

To Be Read Next:

-I'm not really sure, probably a good summer book to bring my summer to an end!

What To Buy Next:

-Nothing, I'm on a book buying ban. At least until I find a job. I've actually done a really good job this summer. My mom bought me some books in trade for some manual labor but that's all I've gotten all summer. I have $40 but I'm saving it for some books that I really want super badly!

That's it for me this week but I'm looking forward to continuing on with this meme! Happy Reading and have a Great rest of your summer!

  1. Hi! Thanks for linking up! I still haven't read Beautiful Creatures and I've had it since May! I'm finally catching up with my reviews, so maybe I can read it soon-ish. Have a great week!

  2. I love the Hunger Games, but Catching Fire was my favorite in the series. It made me love the first even more. Also, Beautiful Creatures, while I really like it, is a hard one to get into. It's really wordy. I think the 2nd book in that one is better too! Good luck finding a job, Kate, it sucks looking, but feels so good when you get one! :D
